PROFILE OF DEN-L

The Development Education Network Liberia (DEN-L) as an impartial, non-partisan, local non-governmental, secular and non-profit-making organization, was founded by a group of Liberians with long years of work in Liberia for the purposes of facilitating programs that promote quality human development, responsible and responsive leadership, and empowered “followerships” that appreciate its gender “differentness” and aware of its civic obligations and rights.
These Liberians worked with the Jesuit Refugee Service for nearly seven years, and were involved in working with communities to develop themselves through training and providing hope for the needy during the Liberian Civil Conflict.
With the termination of the JRS programs in Liberia in 1999, the Liberian Team established and Incorporated the local Non-Governmental Organization, named and styled “Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L).
Since its inception in 1999, the organization has been involved with community development training, shelter assistance for the vulnerable, and intervening in times of emergency.
